The temple is dedicated to\nMaa Vindhyavasini, an embodiment of the omnipresent Goddess Durga, and is\nan important religious site among devotees from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.\nMaa Vindhyavasini is located on the premises of Vindhyachal Temple, and there\nare also temples of several deities, such as Goddess Kali, Goddess Saraswati,\nLord Shiva, Radha-Krishna, Hanuman, and Bhairava. Mother Vindhyavasini\nherself is depicted seated on a lion and is one of the trinity of Hindu deities,\nrepresenting Goddess Lakshmi.\n\nMaa Vindhyavasini Temple welcomes the arrival of devotees day and night, and\nespecially on Tuesdays and full moon days, there is a huge crowd. Situated exactly on the banks of the river Ganga at Vindhyachal, Ma Vindhyavasini temple is the most prime time of the whole Vindhyachal area. Actually, this is not a single temple, but a complex of many temples dedicated to many deities e.g. Goddess Kali, Goddess Saraswati, Lord Shiva, Divine duo Radha- Krishna, Lord Hanuman, and Lord Bhairava. However, the most prime among them is a temple dedicated to Ma Vindhyavasini itself.\n<br><br>\nThe majority of the idols in this temple complex, including that of Ma Vindhyavasini, are of black stone. The Vindhyavasini Devi is depicted as seated on the Lion. She represents Goddess Lakshmi out of the trinity of Hindu Goddesses.\n<br><br>\nThe Vindhyavasini temple is visited by a huge number of people every day, especially Tuesday and Full Moon Day. In the pious days of Navaratri (Literal Meaning- Nine Nights), a huge crowd of devotees comes to get the blessings of Ma Vindhyavasini.\n<br><br>\nMa Vindhyavasini is popularly also called by her devotees as \u2018Vindhyachal Ma\u00ef\u2019 (Mother of Vindhyachal) or \u2018Vindhyavasini Ma\u00ef\u2019 (Mother Vindhyavasini).
